Michigan Man Wanted For Murder Arrested In West Virginia

JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – A 26-year-old man Michigan man wanted for open murder has been arrested in West Virginia.

Troy Desean Johnson is accused of killing Jason Brewer back in February. Brewer was found dead inside a running car in the 400 block of Randolph Street in Jackson in a snow bank. Officials say Brewer was found with gunshot wounds.

A combined task force including the U.S. Marshals and the Michigan State Police found Troy Johnson in Charleston, West Virginia. Officials received a tip that Johnson might be in a grey Toyota with Ohio license plates. They found the car and in the process of attempting to pull the car over, the driver stopped and ran. Officers found Johnson as one of the passengers in the car. He was arrested around 12 p.m. Wednesday and is being held in South Central Regional Jail in Charleston.

Johnson will be brought back to Michigan, where he faces pending homicide charges.
